In order to make certain that all students aquire the necessary skills for success in adult life school attendance is mandatory in the State of California. It is the reponsibility of the parent and the student to ensure a students regular school attendance. The Law state, among other things that students who do not attend school regulary, are subject to disciplinary action by the court system. The best and easiest way to avoid these consequences is for students to attend school regularly. On days when a student must be absent due to illness, parents should call the school as early as possible on the day of the absence.
